My Engine

I know this is not the place for it but it seems to have got no answer in the Engine section. But I have an old XF wagon in the back yard and she's not too shabby it has an auto trans behind a 3.3 litre motor but I'm thinking of putting in the factory 4.1 carby motor and keeping the trans without any mods to it, what I want to know is if I modify the engine a little bit say extractors, sports exhaust, better intake set-up and a better carby will the standard trans which has just been rebuilt take the power and hopefuly hack the high speeds I'm hoping for ????.

Yeah should be the same borg warner 35 or 40. All variations on a theme and if its in good nick will handle the big block. I think they use the same tranny as there were bugger all 3.3's built in comparison.
