Theres plenty of room at the Salt Bush (Lake Side) camp but all the best spots go pretty quickly. If you and ya mates are tenting it you can squeeze in under the trees im guessing. CYA there.

All,
The Racers camp has: Mens 4 x Pans, 4 x Hot showers, 3 x handbasins and 1 x urinal :) :) :)
Ladies: 4 x pans, 2 x Hot showers, 3 x handbasins :) :) :) :) :) :)
For the "peak hour" rush if the ladies aren't around or under utilised can be used by gents for number 2's. This is usually monitored to help releive the peak hour rush
There is limited electricity available for refrigeration, lighting, battery charging etc but gas is the preferred option for cooking.
Dish washing facilities are on the rear of the Ladies toilet with a double 6foot sink with Hotwater and bore water to wash dishes.
WATER is a VERY PRECIOUS RESOURCE AND CAN"T BE WASTED.

The Lakeside camp has 2 x pans, 2 x Cold showers, 2 x handbasins and is usually hooked up to a water tanker provided by Mt Ive. The suggestion of utilising some of the "portable toilets" from the Lake has been suggested and may happen to help relieve the congestion of "peak times" depends on volunteers to move, empty, clean etc.

Suggestion is you bring at least your own drinking water, that is if you drink water :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

Cheers,

So the question needs to be asked. Whats the outcome of discussion on toilet facilities in the bush camp? Is it the same as last year, BYO?

Dave can I give you an answer to this after the General Meeting on the 20th?
Can I just say at this stage there has been some issues raised that the committee are addressing and are working through with the appropriate Authorities. We don't have all the answers right now and probably won't for a little while yet.
What I can say at this time is that toilet facilities will definately not be the same as 2013.

If you check out the newsletter that has just been posted this should go a long way to explaining why things will be different in 2014.

Dont know if anyone has seen the new pricing for Lake Side Camping.

Accommodation (Option 1) Wool Shed has limited powered sites: ie power for car fridge & camp light. Male & Female toilet blocks with shower facility's whilst water lasts.
DLRA Camp 7N - AUD 95.00 1 Person for 7 Night

So thats up from $70.00

Accommodation (Option 2) Lake Side Camp is adjacent to the salt lake behind the Mt. Ive shed overlooking the lake. Food & Drink are available from morning until mid evening limited offering but done well. Camping requires campers to be self sufficient with sanitation including travel toilet.
Lake Side Camp 7N - AUD 95.00 1 Person for 7 Nights

And thats up from $49

Is this a Mt Ive decision or are we all paying for the new generator at the Wool Shed Camp?

Funny how people only see a glass half empty...
No complaints that there is no lake entry fee on the new booking system?
That's because the entry fee ($25) is now included with your accommodation for DLRA camp and salt bush camp.
Those few people who stay at Mt. I've are catered for as well.
Everyone has to pay lake entry to help cover the charge from DEWNR to use the lake.
We also offer a casual day entry as well.

Does this answer your question?

I thought competitors and crew didnt have to pay Lake Entry, that was included in entry fees?

Im not complaining about the amount, although it might sound like it. :?

Thanx for the response.

I would be happy to pay $195 for the lakeside camp, as long as a proper toilet block and shower was provided. Better than carting a crapper in and out again.

$150 "late" entry fee for camping at salt bush camp after 15 Jan 14??? or is that really meant to be a late entry fee for competitors? :?:

That would be late entry fee for competitors, I'll try and make it a bit clearer, but we are not expecting to get many of these online anyway (famous last words)
Note: we will be shutting the online booking system about a week out from the event so that we can do all the stuff we need to do to be ready at the lake.
