Hedgash is correct. According to Facebook Norm ran 207 and David Haas ran 209. David was looking for a drive in Australia a few years back and spoke to a few of us in Wendover about doing a ride swap. He is from Las Vegas.

I got a phone call last night from Big Gaz. He's been doing his licencing runs for the Jag on the GPS course and aced the 125 & 150 mph passses before moving on to the Long Course for the 175mph and chute pull. He overcooked it and did the first mile at 191mph before slowing it down and doing the chute pull. While he did do the 3rd mile at 175 they have ruled that he do it again. So today is 175 again and then on to 200. From the sounds of it he should get there as he reports that he has too much power and needs to feather the throttle to get traction and the 191 that he did was in either 3rd or 4th gear. The gearbox is a Doug Nash close ratio 5 speed and the 5th is 1:1 so he is still getting there. Based on gearing and engine revs (he's limited it to 6500) it can do 200. We also calculated that it needed 450hp for 200 and he's got 868hp. Next year may see the hunt on for a 9 inch ratio lower than 2.5:1?

I don't have much else in news as Gaz has been fully focussed on runs and comms at the lake is not the best... something that we can work on for next year. He did say that people are starting to head home which is normal for thursday's. Trevor Beck said that the temp has been quite warm with one day being 42 degrees. Not sure of the salt condition but it would have to be good for Norm, Dave Haas and Dr G to crack 200. The AGM has happened hris Hanlon and Animal sharing race director duties. I think Cled is also back on as starter joined by Rob Cranfield.

Wo. that is impresive for the Jag, I am so glad. Question: Is there any way to remove the limiter? Seems a waste to not unleash it a little more on the last day...

The limiter can be changed and I'd suggest that if he was close and needed another 500 revs he would do it but it's a Cleveland....

BTW - you can rev a V12 out to 9000....

Just back from the lake on Thursday pm. Can report that Steve Vorwerk (aka Smurf) in his R190 International truck ran 151mph! :D This was a PB for Smurf but unfortunately he had some engine problems at the end of his run so his meeting is over. :(

I have just posted over 300 photos on http://www.daydreamphotography.com.au
They are watermarked due to the need to protect my content, however all the photos will be sent to DLRA free of charge soon. Thanks to the crew at the lake for looking after me and pointing me in the right direction.
A full write up from the perspective of a first time attendee will be published in the next issue of Offroading Online Magazine due out in early March. www.offroadingonline.com.au

Excellent work Danny, nice soundtrack too, who was that?

Lots of smiling faces and a lot of new cars, good to see.

Well done and thanks for posting.
