Maybe that is the missing link in the lead up to Speedweek.

If an Event Committee made up of

President
Vice President
Treasurer
Secretary
Public Relations
Camp Coordinator
Rule Book Coordinator & Rules Committee Coordinator
Race Director
Starter
Timer
Chief Car Steward / Inspector
Chief Motorcycle Steward / Inspector
Fire Extinguisher System Specialist
Safety Crews
and any new positions that come out of these new changes such as a Volunteer Coordinator, Pre Stage Marshall.

Is it possible that such a group could have two meetings prior to Speedweek say November and January (after entries have closed).

Instead of a face to face meeting, a "teleconference" type set up could occur without too much setting up? ( It is common practice in Organisations like ours that suffer the Tyranny of Distance )

This would ensure that all those involved in the running of the event are clear about what the event will look like number wise, how many new entrants there will be and everything that is required planning wise can be put in place well before Speedweek.

The info gained from these meetings could then be shared with any designated Assistants by the relevant Committee members.

As I think about it Monday is really different.

At the Driver Briefing it was recommended that we all do Shake down runs, and
first timers will be having their first ever runs and
there will be a the biggest number of formally licensing passes happening.

Is it worth actually putting some order into Monday in the Event Schedule?

I and a few mates have this penciled in for the first week of march. Just doing the spectating thing.

Cully33's thread over at the HAMB ( http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/show ... e+gairdner ) has really inspired to get off our butts and come check it all out. Hell, I've even got a friends camper trailer booked in for that week!

Just thought I'd "officially" put the dates here.

Friday 28th February to Friday 7th March 2014

We have purposefully made the event start on the Friday as we want people to understand that there is things happening from the Friday and to try a stop the last minute rush that definitely occurred this year.
Keep the shiney side up........
