SOUTH AUST. MEETING & SATA INFO DAY

Post by OLDtimer »

DLRA members & both current & prospective SATA members are invited to a get together at 64 Spring St Queenstown on Saturday April 20th commencing at 1pm with a sausage sizzle, followed by a short DLRA meeting, then the SATA committee will bring everyone up to date with whats been happening behind the scenes & explain our vision for LSR in SA.
*SATA membership is limited to racers & their immediate crew.*

Hi Peter,
I went to Speed week in February and would now like to become involved with Salt Racing. I am willing to help (volunteer) at the next Speed week to get a broader understanding of the sport. I would eventually build a vehicle to race, but appreciate the value of gaining a better understanding of the rules and regulations before I waste my time and money heading in the wrong direction. I am not yet a member of DLRA and am not quite sure what is meant by "*SATA membership is limited to racers & their immediate crew.*" Would I be welcome to attend your meeting on the 20th April, to introduce myself and work out how I can become a part of Speedweek 2014.
Best regards

Hi David, you are more than welcome to come along.
To be a member of the South Australian Timing association, you must have a vehicle to race, or be constructing one. This is the way hot rod clubs etc work. Racers get full membership, crew members get associate membership.
In other words membership is not open to general public . This stops us having a membership list of 1500 plus, with a small percentage being financial ( as we have with the DLRA)
Hope this helps, see you on the 20th !

I'm afraid I'm going to have to be an apology for the 20th.
Already committed to other things that weekend.
Was looking forward to a post Speedweek get together as well :(
