Just found this article about Rosco McGlashan wanting to set a new land speed record in Queensland.
The QTA are not the only ones looking at Bilpa Morea Claypan.

It was also announced on Facebook - yep, they're looking at the claypan - they quoted 31 miles of uninterrupted nothingness.
