Re: weather
Many thanks for taking the time and effort to ensure the surface is useable.
I've gotten to the turnoff at Iron Knob before and found the road closed, meeting cancelled signs, it's a lot of time and money down the drain if it's washed out eh.
Your efforts are appreciated.
UPDATE 23/02 The long-range rain forecast is for bugger-all rain, we'll be lucky to see a light shower or two according to the boffins.

Re: weather
Here is the latest satellite data - the 23rd Feb - looks pretty good but with a few wet spots elsewhere. It would be good to compare this to the ground truth...

Re: weather
That's pretty much what we expect to see Paul, always a bit damp to the south and to the North over the depression (or the crick as some people like to call it).
2 more sleeps, then it's on the bus. Can't wait!
May get an update tomorrow afternoon from the camp as the first officials arrive and start work.

Re: weather
Nice - I'd like to measure actual water depth somewhere if I get the chance.
Looks like the satellite takes good pics in "path 99" and "path 100" (both "row 82") - it will be passing overhead Tuesday 10th March
http://landsat.usgs.gov/tools_L8_acquis ... lendar.php
Everyone remember to look up and smile for a group photo
Edit: Let me double check that date as it is probably US time - I'll spend some time tomorrow and work out the exact time of day too so we don't blink http://publiclab.org/notes/nedhorning/0 ... pass-times
OK Landsat 7 passes over Mon 3rd March a little after 10:20am and Landsat 8 Tuesday 4th March a little after 11:20am - the resolution is probably not high enough so we probably won't be in a happy snap but I am sure we'll be smiling anyway
