Lake Condition for March 2015

Re: Lake Condition for March 2015
So if I'm interpreting this correctly that darker blue just north of the islands is water?
If that's the case that's pretty much the end of the track.

yes - they colour that image to look like it would if you took a photo. So the blue is water which in reality is cooler readings of the surface due to moisture.

Re: Lake Condition for March 2015
Scrolling back i think the northern 2/3 of the lake does not share a lot of water with our end , seems to mostly stop above the puddle at the top just beyond the track , maybe a bit higher salt or dirt in that area , but it also looks like that puddle will eventually move to both the arm to our east and to the south end of our area
Been dry as chips since oct 30 , but evaporated a lot of water between sept and oct
with current evaporation rates i think it will be gone from wherever it lays within a week or 2
With possibility of second meet in Nov during raised during the general meeting it does look like a good time to do it

You need to sign up to http://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/. I also have it set up so it emails me when new data is available and I am using the links they send in that to post the pictures (though they'll expire in a few months).Greg Watters wrote:How do you get the later images Paul ?

Edit: Here is a link to instructions I posted for Lake Butchanan (should work for Lake G) http://www.dlra.org.au/forum/viewtopic. ... rer#p23757
