We had 8mm of rain in Pt Augusta last night. There is another band of rain that has passed over the bottom of Lake Gairdner this morning. Wind is forecast for tomorrow so that should dry most of it up.

There will be an final inspection of the lake on the 18th February 2016. I will be publishing the findings of this inspection here, hopefully the same day.

Thanks to Michael Brixton, Smurf and Peter Noy for making the trip on our behalf.

You can monitor weather conditions from the nearest monitoring stations to Lake Gairdner at http://www.DLRA.org.au/weather.htm

Extended forecast is;
Monday 29/02: low of 14° - high of 27°, 2% chance of precipitation
Tuesday 01/03: 18° - 28°, 7%
Wednesday 02/03: 17° - 30°, 19%
Thursday 03/03: 16° - 27°, 0%
Friday 04/03: 13° - 26°, 0%

I can also happily report that 95% of the infrastructure works that we were required to carry out are now complete. Thanks to those (few) members from the Christmas working bee. There is an afternoons work errecting some fencing left, anyone who is planning on arriving early and want to help, your efforts would be very much appreciated. Without this work done we would simply not be racing this year or for many years to come.

Things have been insanely busy but I expect things to calm down next week - I will get some satellite images prepared next week so you have some additional info.

Don't Panic! Right now there are moderate to heavy falls covering the hallowed ground (lake G), this will be gone in an hour or three, and then the sun will bake it dry again , the little bit of moisture will greatly assist us in prepping a nice racing surface,

We had rain last Saturday but it was very patchy. I had 22mm at Stirling Nth but the Pt Augusta airport only got 3mm. Good news is there is a run of 4/5 days next week in the high 30's/ low 40's.
Cheers Mossy

Hey all,

I did a flight over the Lake on Sunday 31st...... not a drop of moisture to be seen.

That obviously changed last week with falls of up to 50mm across the Eyre Peninsula.

I will be doing my next flight either this coming Friday or Sunday and will report back!

Cheers
