Just noticed.....

From Wednesday we are expecting 4 consecutive days of temperatures in the mid-40s......

I think we will be fine!

Sorry to be late!

No pictures, sorry - camera didn't work this time.

Much drier that last visit, as expected. Small amount of water north of the islands (The Blue Streak discussed in the Satellie imaging thread), and a small amount of water that would be at the end and to the left of the 3 mile track.

All in all, looking great.

Thanks Scott,

That most recent image from space shows the variation in the blue areas even from the previous image. It is very interesting the way the lake changes, I think the best way to describe it is "it's alive!". Way back in 2009 I caused all sorts of ruckus on this forum by writing that the lake was tidal and that we should avoid having Speedweek during the full moon. I reasoned that after a day watching the salt I had noticed water rising twice in the puddles formed by the pressure ridges and then disappearing twice (once in the morning and once in the afternoon). Nothing had changed in the weather all day. Most people took a lot of convincing until they checked back through the years and discovered the correlation. It's all part of the fun of racing on salt.

I can't wait to be out there in 40+ heat, let's hope it cools down a lot very soon.

Thanks again, see you there.

David it's no coincidence that I've been setting speed week dates based on the cycle of the moon since 2000.
There was just a couple of years where some people didn't believe me that dates changed.
