Getting To Lake Gairdner By Air
• Wrightsair are offering Charter flights to the lake in March for the 2018 speed week trials from various locations around the state.
• We will land directly on Lake Gairdner or at Mount Ive Station.
• Flights from Adelaide will be conducted in a 5 passenger twin engine Aerostar with a flight time of just 70 minutes. A 12 seat Cessna Caravan is also available if required. Both of these aircraft will land at Mt Ive and passengers will be transferred to the lake in smaller aircraft.
• Return Charter flights are available from Port Augusta and is just 30 minutes in a 5 passenger Cessna 210. The flight will land on the lake surface - just a short walk to the pits and canteen.
*$495 p/p including 2 nights accommodation, twin share.
• Return Charter Flights from Wudinna to the Lake is only 20 mins flight time.
*From $450 p/p including 2 nights accommodation, twin share.
• Various scenic flights around the lake and region will be available during speed week. Come and see us on site!

I'll be up for a scenic flight.
I badly regret not doing it the last time we had a light plane on the salt (2009 ?) so I won't be missing this opportunity. Not many people can say they have been flying in a plane and been overtaken by a car or bike.
