2004 Speed Trials

Post by DLRA »

I have just posted the first of the photos from the 2004 Speed Trials.
Thanks very much to Garry Allen and Frank Groth.

I'm workin on the theory that you can never have too many photos. So if you were there and you've got some how about sharing. If you want to post 'em, I'll attempt to do same day turn around and express post them back. Send to Greg Wapling, 182 Wells Road Aspendale Gardens VIC 3195.

If they are images, please send to greg.wapling@dse.vic.gov.au as the hotmail mailbox is only 1Mb.

Peter Noy should have the results any day now, as soon as I get them they will appear on the 2004 page.

The page for the 2004 DLRA Speed Trials is now up with 17 photos on it.
The results aren't far away, just waiting for some clarifications between the Timer and the Chief Scruitineer and we will be right. This page will change often over the next week to a month.

Record year for number of entrants (76) and vehicles (60 something), 19 bikes. 6 new members to the 200MPH club! Monday rained in the arvo, Tuesday, tail wind = no records for assisted times. Big Wednesday.
No spins, no damage which is another first. Most teams significantly improved their speeds on last year and there were some very impressive debut performances.

G'day Greg
I have sent our photos on a disc by mail as I don't no how to send them electrically. I don't need the disc back, just use what you deem fit. Some include the bus trip from HELL with footage of us towing Bobs bus etc. I'd rather bury that trip in the alcoholic fog it deserves and never think about it ever again but heh the racing made up for all the pain. It was so much fun I can't wait for next year. Now I've just got to go out the back and finish digging a big enough hole to fit a bus in. (She died of thirst I think)

G'Day Don
Yeah I'm all for that idea. Just need to issue ear muffs at each town in advance and worn the little children to stay indoors. Then follow the grader from Iron Knob. I don't see a problem there. It would certainly would make for a quicker trip.
