Did they search the rig for any of our cross bred desert tadpoles Bobby
The OldTimer was rather concerned that some of the local toads would contaminate his little green darlings and he kept them locked away for the last 2 days of racing.
Great time had by all and plan to have our bus and perhaps the Hemi at the lake next March

Search Complete.No contraband found.
These two policemen were great , they were very helpful , and had a sense of humour.
The Qld cops could take a lesson or two from these guys!

Bob,
I like your sense of humour. I wish I was there to see the look on Chris's face! Thanks again for the opportunity to scrutineer on Tuesday and Wednesday, it was a valuable exercise both for its technical element and to be able to exercise my tact and restraint with some drivers/builders. Some efforts were nothing sort of unbelievable (read that how you may).
Can you please give Big Paul a hard copy of the scrutineering sheet we used, I would like one for referrence. I believe you are having a send-off for the old bloke Wednesday night. Please send my apologies.
Shaguar will definitley be ready for next year, started work on it again yesterday!

Thanks Bob
Thanks Bob for scrutineering our car and thanks for the help that you have been during our build ............you are up the top of the list of people that it wouldn't have happened without.
We didn't get back to you but we pulled out that 'chute bucket , mopped up that oil spill and twitched a tinnie onto the diff breather......respect Bro'
Thanks to all the other volunteers , Cled, Cookey...great commentary, drier than a Pommy's towel......
btw , I dropped the track markers at the camp ...but I've still got the hammers.....you know what they say...."dumb as a box of hammers"

...few understand what I'm trying to do , but they vastly outnumber those who understand why..
Important lesson boys and girls.
Never ever drive on the same road in the same state at the same time as one Robert Ellis.
The mongrel set me up when we caught him just before the fruit fly station heading to the lake, the inspector came aboard went through the fridge took all the carefully hidden tomatoes.
Then after thinking I'd be safe to polish of those last 4 heavys on the second loneliest streach of god forsaken road on the planet I come across this mongrel again.
Not funny Bob. Don't worry I have a memory like an elephant.
BTW. We had 6 hours sleep at Cobar and arrived home at 8pm
My bus wins

Lucky the County Mounties didn't look for ya number plates,He He!!
Seriously (if only for a moment), the cops reckoned you had the koolest sounding bus, when i told them it was a 392 on lpg, they were horrified."You can't get lpg out this way".I told 'em you got two 200 l tanks, and they then agreed with us that you have "Salt Fever".
They were great fella's (they let you go).
