Count me in even if it means the Birdsville track. Been up it twice and had a ball doing it. I might just fit a winch to the front of the towie though

If you study the first picture in this link hard enough ,the surface of the lake will appear....
Pictures 6 and 7 are also worth a look.

Count us in, we will travel anywhere. The more remote adds to the attraction.

Re: Bilpea Morea Claypan
Plucka, please explain the Birdsville track for those that have'nt travelled it. Can you tow a race car on a trailer with a good 2WD. Is it 4WD only for towing. Buses or trucks OK. A bit of local knowledge might help many cause it would save a lotta km's for some.
Ross. We take it that you with will obviously need dark sun glasses, couldn't quite make out the horizon but it does appear to be a big place in the background.
Thats 3 racers that will run if they get there stuff back from Bonneville in time. Don't worry, this could influence the final race date, remember racers are much more important than spectators, if you build it they will come.
Thanks Shane, Grumm, Pete, Adrian, and bloody Don. Demanding as ever, I planned to leave you stand in the sun for 5 days with a green flag. Surley it can't be that hard for a pheudo Kiwi

For the record guys.
If Cled rang up and said we can run on Lake Gairdner in September Bridgey, Savro and I would drop this like a hot potato. None of us need the work.
Just thought I'd clarify that for anyone wondering.

On the salt if you spin or fall of a bike you can get away with just sliding (I saw Anthony Hopkins do it). Isn't Clay a different proposition as in tyres and bodies can dig in?

Sounds like an El Mirage question as well. Maybe Greg Watters can answer it?

Re: Bilpa Morea Claypan
Seen cars spin at Elmo , but its a very firm surface , i only hope we can end up with the same
Here's something to get you in the mood
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91P6mFPitmk
Also shows the return road just in front of the spectators, 25mph speed limit, towed return only ,
This is a pretty good view of the track , you can see the previous vehicles wheelspin has marked the track and probably cut some grooves,
The track is moved during the day if needed ,just move across 1 width .Timing is all beyond this and does not need to change
Cars tend to use the middle in case they get out of line a bit and the bikes hug the sides, looking for unmolested surface
