Jeez, don't you guys know ANYTHING ! it's there for a number of important reasons.
1./ when a crew member has his head under the bonnet.

2./When one of the three women other than Carol who go to Speedweek walks anywhere near the car , you give her a blast , a thumbs up and shout "Hey hey!"

3./ When you are in line for scrutineering and the car in front doesn't move forward 3/4 of an inch within 10 seconds of the car in front of it moving forward 3/4 of an inch you give them a minute long blast.

4./When your motor begins breaking down under load and refuses to pull anything more than fifteen hundred revs in top , blast the horn while passing through the traps whilst waving towards the pits.

5./ For resting your head against after someone has knocked you out for performing 1-4 above.
...few understand what I'm trying to do , but they vastly outnumber those who understand why..
