Please feel free to contect Joss direct or add to this post. Should be interesting.
Apologies for the cold call; I found your website (Australian Land Speed Racing) whilst looking for information on Donald Campbell's LSR attempts. I'm currently working for Electric Pictures - an independent television production company based in Fremantle, WA - and am looking for Australian's who may've been involved with Campbell's record attempts.
Would you happen to know any one that was connected with the Bluebird Project? I'd be very grateful for any assistance you may be able to offer.
Hi Joss
Just happened to be listening to ABC radio in Adelaide when they did a feature on Donald Campbell and spoke to his widow. After the interview several people rang in who had been involved with the record attempts. The audio file is available at: http://blogs.abc.net.au/sa/2012/05/memo ... afternoons
Also be aware that Elfin Sport Cars in Adelaide built a car that was used to test tyres for Campbell's land speed record attempt prior to his arrival in Australia.
PM me if you want to talk further.
Hope that this helps.
Steven

so far 120mph for$2000---imagine how fast I can go for $20,000
I remember my old man taking me to see this when I was 9 years old.
The car also was taken down King William st under tow by Land Rover but with the turbine running.
We also saw the Bluebird boat on display at the Wayville showgrounds. http://vimeo.com/45004715
I remember sitting on my dads shoulders outside the town hall watching The Bluebird going past. I think he still has the 8mm film of it. Ill ask him next time I see him.
