Who's doing what on their week off.

Post by RGV »

OK so we might go to Innamincka for a look round. I worked at Moomba for 3 years and looked around a bit in that time and would like to take my wife up for a look. Might even catch a fish in the Coopers.

Think I'm going to chuck a sleeping bag and tent on my Guzzi and disappear out round Tambo, Blackall, Canarvon Gorge for some hiking.

Too long since I've seen the stars properly.

Who were you with at Moomba RGV, I was out there in the early 80s camping in a swag and building drill leases and pipelines, went back about 6 years ago with Santos, in Brissy office now.

Hey Jon,
I was at Moomba with Expertest in the early 90s. We did well testing for Santos. I think they were brought out by Oilserve.

Ive got Berts book "One Good Run" to read, might find a shady tree by the Coopers with a Coopers. Bit of reading, drinking and fishing. Only problem is ill have to read the book again as I wont be able to remember what ive read the next day.

Theres no way im cancelling my holidays again.

One good run is the one with the photo on the front? that's a great read, better than the one written by the guy from Invercargill.

I was gonna have to pull a swifty to get that leave anyway....despite having four weeks in the bag. Now I have eight months or so to get the car assembled for the salt. I can't see Omeo as being a possibility for us in the short term, despite the reports I know that we will have to lift the car at least three inches to be able to run there(which would be a major operation) and that's just to run. The short format isn't really suitable for us.The fastest we've left the quarter trap is about 170, even if we went to a 3.08 or higher we still wouldn't, by my calcs, hit that speed at Omeo.

We need all those miles out there for us to get going, we estimate we've probably now got another 100 hp than we had in 2010 but the last two miles that year we were only putting on 12mph/per mile........Omeo will be good for bikes and door cars with plenty of grunt but for low slung, no-suspension rides with moderate power it'll be a big ask.
...few understand what I'm trying to do , but they vastly outnumber those who understand why..

I am still taking this week off and thinking about cutting back the 2-pak with some 2000 grit and giving it a buff. I did have a run that I was a bit embarassed about. Big Paul is looking for some graphics. I want to put a couple of extra fuel pressure sensors in along with a fuel temp sender. I put some bungs into the rear chassis rails so I could load them with the cheap lead shot I got from QLD but I would like to borrow or hire some corner scales for a week end. Does anyone have any contacts?

Will still take the time off and finish an early Hemi engine /transmission package for a customer and get it ready to deliver it across to Melbourne hopefully to co ordinate with an AGM :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:
Also look into the logistics of getting the rod ready for a scoot across Lake Omeo in November.
Will need an an analysis of the salt content in the dirt first. :P :P :P :P
