Salt temp

Post by GSUZ »

I am doing some research into tyres and the extreme conditions we put them through, Michelin are asking some technical questions now and i need to know did anyone have any idea of the temperature of the salt on the hottest days of racing this year??
Thanks

shane I have no exact figure ...butyou will find that the surface temp never gets to ambient temps ...the salt draws up water /moisture and the hotter it gets the more it draws up ....which evapourates and keeps the surface cool .....with tyres our greatest problem is friction from excessive spin caused by the low CoF...thats why hard compounds are best. hope that helps ?
