Over the coming weeks I'll be posting info for those that are coming to Speed Week 2014.
First off is this poster I've just finished about Dehydration, please take the time to read it. Better still print it off and bring it with you.
Our event is run in one of the hottest places on the planet. With the conditions we are experiencing now you can expect 45 degrees on the salt. It doesn't matter if you're competing or spectating if you're on Lake Gairdner you need to monitor your water levels.
Competitors do walk around in your gear all day, think about when to suit up, practice how long it takes you, you have plenty of time to prepare while waiting in the queue.
And everyone protect yourself, bring your our shade structure (something that will withstand high wind), hats, sunglasses, sun cream.
We have even had people get burnt under their nose and eyelids from the reflection off the salt.
So prepare! We want everyone to enjoy their experience of this amazing place and these amazing vehicles.

Re: Dehydration
Quick question on this topic. Is the ice supplied at the lake consumable?

From memory it is bagged and stored in a fridge trailer... so 'yes' but hopefully someone else will clarify
