Bit of land speed history return to OZ

good to see a bike that set some speed history coming back to Australia
the auction price is staggering
wonder who bought it ?
i volunteer to ride it @ lake Gairdner

Thanks for posting Steve, interesting read 8)

I have been slowly collecting snippets of Australian Motorcycle LandSpeed history, with it in mind to compile a book when I decide to retire,, so if anyone out there has anything related, please contact me :D

as a little harky , ( 1968–9 -70 ) i went to beach land speed meetings in Tasmania
some were at a ( then remote ) beach , common name was 7 mile beach ( guess how long it was ) ( north western Tas , near Port Sorrell , off the Exeter Highway)
