We could quarantine the lake for two weeks of racing then if some one tests positive we could have another two weeks of racing then our next problem will be the toilet paper

We have no contingency.
Just as there is no rain date.
All the marbles have been cast.
We have an event, well 2 actually and who ever is there gets to run.
Having said that there are a couple of things that would or could stop the events.
No medical or fire crews.
(We will actually have 3 doctors this year)
Not enough key officials.

For World Speed Trials, the main FIM official comes from Switzerland, all the others are Australian. So I don't see any big problems there.

We have quite a few Americans coming this year and about 5 from NZ. I don't see any problems for them.
A lot of the Target 550 guys are here already.

I've only had one cancellation due to the virus so far and that was a member of the media from Europe.

Myself I've been busy trying to build up my immunity by drinking as many Corona's as I can....

If Scotty from Marketing says to do something doing the opposite is usually the more sensible option. it certainly is in this case.

While there might be 500 people there its hardly a "gathering". We are spread out over a very big area.
Except for the drivers meeting that is.... maybe that could be done in a couple of lots or Animal could webcast it.
Cheers JB

" 500 plus people " If they the Govt want to get Technical maybe we could extend the Pits by another 300 mtrs to look better in our favour .
500 people spread over track 2 startline , track 1 startline and the Pits plus canteen area up on
the hill is certainly manageable given the distances between these areas ..
Add the 2 camp areas and we could argue that not everyone in attendance will be in the same place at the same time .
I dont see an issue here , nothing to see here .

What does a mass gathering ban mean in Australia?
Australia's Chief Medical Officer Brendan Murphy said the events were banned due to the length of time a large group of people will spend in contact.

"We are talking about a static gathering where people are together for a period of perhaps up to two hours. That's generally where you have a high risk of exposure," Dr Murphy said.

"Casual exposure [like] walking through a train station or airport is much lower risk, so we're talking about those constant periods of contact."
