DLRA Camp working bee

Post by outbacktrev »

Spoke with Rob C today and the dates have been set for this years working bee/retreat week at the DLRA camp.

Working bee date will be week commencing Monday October 2nd to 6th. :D

Jobs that require attention will be in no particular order:

a) Brake repairs and Mtce to Dodge truck
b) Finish installing roof sheets on coolroom
c) Install various water saving plumbing fittings
d) General mtce to infrastructure
e) Plumbing and pump install for water t/fer between tanks
f) General site cleanup
g) Assembly of two new portable toilets

Sounds like a lot but with a few hands on deck we usually have an enjoyable week with good socialising and even a couple of cool drinks.
Sunsets over the lake are brilliant and its a good oportunity to relax .

If you are able to commit some time please advise and your help for your Club would be appreciated. It all makes race week that little bit better

Cheers,
Trevor

G'Day All,
Seems to be lots of activity on the site with regard to various building projects you guys have got going
Sounds like next year the race meeting may be bigger and better with the new constructions happening
How many can spare a bit of time in Oct 2-6 for a bit of Mtce. It's actually a bloody good opportunity to catch up and have a few cool drinks without the pressure of the race meeting and generally have a relaxing week, even though we do a bit of work as well.
You don't have to live in tents or line up for the dunny or showers as there is usually only a few of us up there (read peaceful) and there are plenty of spare beds. :D
Bring your food, your cool drinks, sleeping bag, pillow and of course some tools.
Cheers,
Trevor

Hi Trev
I have to be totally honest and say( probably not the only one here) as much as I'd like to be there , I can't afford it . If I could I'd be there without hesitation. At the moment I'm a little short of work , in way that's good because I've got more time to work on the bellytank....and that's a good thing.
...few understand what I'm trying to do , but they vastly outnumber those who understand why..

Working Bee

Post by Cookey »

Hi Guys,
I have been a member since June '03 but never been able to make a working bee or a meet due to work commitments.
So I have seen the light, chucked in the job, refurbished the old Hiace and decided to 'Go racing"
I will definately be there for the week and can bring welding gear and other equipment etc.
Also a case or 2 of good Barossa red (for evaluation of course!)
Let me know what the campsite is lacking in and I will see what I can scrounge up.
Cheers

Looking forward to catching up at the camp site.
I am thinking of driving up on the Sunday, leaving from the Barossa pretty early as I want to call in on a few mates in Port Augusta on the way.
Anyone else traveling in on the Sunday?

Cheers
