Oh there you are.

Some president you are! When's the first meeting? Huh? HUH!??

In all your time of being the top dog what have you done? Nothing! Like Bracks on methadone...

I demand a vote of no-confidence, you've been in too long.

I've been following this board for a while, but this is my first post. I have only two questions.

1. Are you people all crazy or something?
2. Can I join?

Bloody hell, this post looks dangerous.
Anyone have experience with club legislation and tax stuff?
Was wondering about expense deductions and purchases. Whether a club structure could help with team infrastructure costs (tarps, gazebos, etc). There's probably some convoluted way to buy that stuff under the club name for use by teams.

Alright, my hand's up for a lowly admin position (therefore out of the running for top jobs).

Rev, you into the Holy Water this morning?

The short answer to the question: "Is the DLRA incorporated?" - Yes.

I have a copy of the document. It is a basic document and no doubt fulfilled the needs of the club at its inception.

Given the discussion on this thread about setting up State Divisions this has the flavour of the current ASRF structure about it. That would require something of an overhaul of the constitution to acheive that. This may not be the ideal model for DLRA purposes as there is a measure of financial separation between the states under ASRF.That may not be appropriate here.

This means consideraton be given to the provisions that deal with amending the existing constitution. From memory a two thirds majority of the members is needed to vote in favour of the changes. I will need to check that to confirm.

This process will need to be initiated by the current committee of management (executive) . They should be lobbied to get the ball rolling.

Given the growth in interest in the sport/DLRA organisation an overhaul of the constitution is probably not a bad idea. I am more than happy to draft the document and do leg work to lodge etc.

This process does need a green light to kick it off.

Start lobbying and put forward your ideas!

I'm in the ACT and am looking at joining the club. Would be able to help look after an ACT/NSW chapter.

Do you need a copy of an existing Car Club constitution as a guide?
If so let me know and I will get a copy to you

Great research Hawk, it proves the least # of dinosaurs are in Qld

Interesting then how many hits the various posts get from so few contributors who rairly talk much about salt lake racing. Have you reseached hits per period and how much more traffic there is now to say 12 mths ago.

WHOA THERE PEOPLE
We are really just considering the issue of having a state representative . The DLRA seems to function pretty good with one main committee and meetings in Victoria and our annual general meeting at Lake Gairdner .Surely we can keep running it this way , along with a representative from states that feel the need to send one . We dont have to form state clubs , change constituions or a whole lot of other issues to achieve this .
If you cant work out who you want as a rep for your state , well you,ve allready got issues to start with , and forming a club will only turn into a real bun fight . Personally would like it to be kept as informal as possible , and thats one of the reasons i enjoy this sport , the informality of it all .
Will take this up with el presidento , and see what he says .
