Some advice please for 08 first timer
Well I had hoped to have a roadster ready for '08 but that isnt going to happen now so it looks like I'll most probably come along in 08 just to look and learn. I want to start planning this trip would like to know is it worth bringing a campervan out to stay in and is there a thread with some basic info for the 1st timer?

Panhead,
A campervan would be good accommodation but it would have to be able to stand the rigours of the dirt road from Iron Knob to Lake G.
Sometimes the dirt is in very good order and other times not so good. That changes with the weather. The DLRA camp has power (limited for refrigeration and lighting, cooking is best on gas or similar) You will need to be self sufficient in food and drinks.
Toilet and Shower facilities are there but may require queing at times, bringing your own drinking water (if you drink water) can be a good idea as well.
Camp fees do apply but am not sure what thet will be next year yet.
Somewhere else on this excellent site is a fairly extensive information list for 1st timers. Hopefully we will get to actually race next year.
Cheers,
Trevor

Read all the stuff under the "About Us" section of the website.
Then read all the stuff about "Lake Gairdner", "Mt. Ive Homestead" and "Track layout"
Then if you have any questions, ask away.

Im more then happy to help in any capacity I can, in fact I might be of some assistance prior to the event as Im an Environmental Scientist by trade which may be an aid when dealing with regulatory agencies and writing any required plans etc in the future.
I have looked but also cant find the dates for '08. Which probably says more about my internet search abilities then anything else.
