Bonneville Stories

Post by DLRA »

G’day,

Norm Hardinge here (Aussie Desert Cooler and Big Knob Racing). I want to find out who is heading to Bonneville this year, and is anyone taking a car or motor bike to run at SpeedWeek. I am looking for interesting stories for publication in Australia and New Zealand. If you can help or have any leads, please let me know via:
norm@aussiedesertcooler.com.au

Thanks for your time,

Norm Hardinge.

Geez mate, you don't want to start a career in journalism, you won't have any money to play with hot rods!

They ( Cruzin ) get every one else to write for them and my guess they do not pay them. :? :?

Oh What the Heck... Good on you Norm for at least doing some PR for the DLRA. :D

Totally agree with you, Bob, (except for the chevy bit), Norm is a great ambassador for our club & is doing a great job promoting us. Keep up the good work, Knobby ! Pete DLRA #6

Norm, irrespective of anything else was the very first person I spoke to when I started this long strange trip and I will never forget the conversation ...

Norm: " so , are you into racing , or hot-rods"?
Me : na , not that much...just the sort of weirdo end of cars"
Norm: " ah, ha, hahahahahahah ....you'll f***** LOVE this!"

His head isn't big nor his arse tight yet you'll never see one jammed up the other.

The Harris Family in New Zealand (current owners of the C/GR record) were planning on going in '08 to race B/GR for the 60th anniversary.
I'm not sure if their plans are still on track.

And then there's these guys

Hi
I think you already know that Allan is going again.

Just booked my ticket to go with the Black Thunder Racing Team and I hope to video as much of Speed Week as I can.
Thanks
Richard
