I finally pulled my finger out made a bit of a web page from visit to the salt in 2005. I figured with all the bad luck we've had the last couple of years, a look back at how nice the lake was in '05 might cheer a few of you up.

Yeah, I wondered about that when I was writing. I was pretty sure people were saying he was the first over 300 (without having a rocket/jet strapped to his arse!)
Just did a quick Google search. Looks like DC went 403 , but he was a Pom, so that doesn't count.

...............there's a book about the Lake Eyre record attempt in '64 called "The Dead Lake" and it's a great read I reckon you're gonna to have to go to a library because I pretty sure it ain't in print

This might be a good spot for these pics my dad took back in 1964. Not certain, but I'm pretty sure this is when Donald Campbell was coming back from Lake Dumbleyung after setting the Water Speed Record.
