LAKE BUCHANAN

Post by ROSS BROWN »

The latest reconisance trip to Lake Buchanan has revealed that we have another usuable venue for land speed racing in Australia..
Jon Bennett , Chris Hanlon and myself set out on a 14 hour journey of discovery on friday mourning to find the lake not completly dry , but with about another 3 weeks of drying you would find the surface to be not to disimilar to El MIRAGE.
A meeting with the land owner on Friday ,and todays meeting with the QTA (Queensland Timing Association) has set the ball in motion...

geeze it hot here,,, were 350k east of Buchanan and on the coast which traditionaly gets a lot more rain than inland, this November/December period has been the dryest since 1986, :| , if this keeps up, or we get a dryish wet season (January/March) there will be dust on Buchanan this coming September/October, 8) , bring it on, :D ,,

think i might go for a swim up the creek near the mountains where its too cold for the Croc's, ,,

My pleas for respite from this damn heat have gone unanswered, rather, the heat has gotten worse, I guess I'll just shut up and wait.
