It's a good chance to work out the final details of getting to the salt and racing.
The usual questions are around what to take and what you can get at the lake. You could also find out what work needs to be done by volunteers and who to ask to offer help.
And the greatest mystery question of all..........
What car will Don race? Don now has a stable of 3 Land Speed Cars and I believe that the car choice depends on his mood. "Am I in a Red mood / Blue mood / feeling frisky" Frisky mood = Cedric, his latest love! Come along to the barbie and find out what he has decided!!!!

Another successfull get together /meeting . Total of 25 turned up .
Naturally there was plenty of discussion about the postponement/ cancellation of this years Lake Gairdner event .
Discussion was held about running a short course event at Stanthorpe airstrip . Chris Hanlon and myself are going to draft up a letter to Stanthorpe Council . We will personally deliver it after the council elections next month .
A mobile phone is going to be purchased . We will be having recorded messages on the phone to advise of meeting and event dates , happenings , etc .
Paul Lynch was taking minutes of the meeting , so theres more to report later I guess .
Most had a feed of bacon and eggs or snag sangers cooked up by Margy ( my partner ) and Helen Cumes . Was good tucker .
A Jin Beam bourbon collector edition was raffled off .
Most agreed with the early start time of 9 am , so that the way it will be in the future , except maybe our xmas meet .
We are now going to have meetings on a regular quarterly basis .
dates to be finalised soon .
A letter will be posted out to all Qlders and those nearby with the mobile ph number and this years meeting / get together dates . Also will be put on this forum .
John Ladbrook Snr , member no 612 ,( jnr was here also ) turned up . John migrated from Invercargill a few years ago . John knew Burt Munro and broke Burts beach racing speed records . John was going to race a Turboed Suzuki bike at this yrs event , and has been around 300kmh on it in NZ , lots of good stories to be had from John .
Again thanks to all for turning up , a good turnout , sorry i didnt get invite letters out .
