still a chance
Doc, 25" and 27" tyres aren't as rare as you might think. Most recent Falcons with steel wheels use a 215/60VR16 tyre which has a nominal diameter of 664mm, or 26.25". A 205/65R15 which is a very common size on older Falcons (EF, EL etc) is 647mm or 25.5" tall. You might even be able to scrounge some used taller drag slicks in a reasonable width from the Jap import racers. As for remembering Beagles, I liked it when I read it so it's in instant recall forever. Of course I can't remember what I did 10 seconds ago but years ago is no problem! Must be the grey hair.
Good, Fast, Cheap, pick any two!

Have you considered a time honered Aussie traditional called a"sickie".
Bit of a cough Thursday arvo and act a bit down in the dumps then a quick phone call Friday AM. Make sure you stop the tow car when you do this and make the other conspiriters shut up. Repeat for each team member and before you know it your in sunny QLD.
SEE YOU AT WARWICK

.......when a mate is ringing in for the sickie you just yell, "get off the phone it's your shout idiot"
...few understand what I'm trying to do , but they vastly outnumber those who understand why..

Have you read the rulebook? I'm assuming you have one if you've joined but it's also available for download here : http://www.dlra.org.au/rulebook.htm
That should answer most of your questions.

I owe, I owe, so off to work I go.
Read rulebook yes, where it says
"All cars in competition must be eqipped with a roll bar or roll cage structure."
Minimum requirements state the bar must pass within 6" and extend above the drivers head and can be braced backward with 1/8" gussets on the ends of the brace, 1/4" plates 5" x 6" in a sandwich to secure roll bar to the car.
I was hoping for an interpretation of the rules, not a reference to them.
So a properly secured 4 point bolt in cage will exeed the requirements.

Rouge , 1st you have to sort out which class your car fits into, then check existing record / minimum. Then you can sort out the type of cage structure you require,The Warwick airstrip deal is a DLRA deal and all cars/bikes must be log booked as a DLRA class vehicle.all safety items are non negotiable,so if the class record for your car is over/near 175mph you will be required to have a cage "See figue 4-1"
As I always say "What's Your Life Worth?"
The Airstrip event will,we HOPE,go ahead once we get Lake G done, and we secure the required insurance.
Cheers , Bob.
