I have put the RGV engine back in the Std chassis so I can do some testing of the new fuel tank and exhaust pipes.

I did the first test run today and the new Fuel Tank for the Long Bike seems to have solved the fuel feed issues I've had.

As 2019 is the last year I can use the Sunoco Leaded I have run since 2013, I've decided to leave the engine in the RGV chassis and run in M-G-250 again in 2019 as it might be the last time I can run Gas Class with this engine tune.

The current Record is 121 mph and needs some attention :D

More news soon.

A Vid of the start up and idle adjustments (I'd already done an initial warm up and free revving a Smoker is a normal part of warm up) ..... Can you smell the Castor Oil :D

for the pedantic watchers they are not my Jolly Moto Pipes they are my first attempt at home made pipes, They are designed to raise the peak rpm to from 11500 to 13000. Don't know if they work as I did not run them this year.

After my first long run test ..... ignore Temp Gauge it's not connected.

Held it WOT in 3rd gear for 10 secs slight uphill stretch.

The EGTs about where I thought they'd be as I richened it up when I did the set up on the reassembly of the Lectrons .... So I'll do a Power Jet adjustment 1/4 tun in on left and 1/2 turn in on right and have another run later in the week.

The max rpm is the highest I have seen on this engine, but the Power Valves (exhaust) would not have been fully open with the settings I had programmed in so maybe the new pipes might work if I lower the PV opening RPM to 11500 rpm.

This is what happens when the Power Valve stays shut vs having fully adjusted PV settings

It's a comparison of two of the many Dyno runs I did with the slightly modded engine I used to run

Jolly Moto Exhausts, Unleaded Heads, open Std Airbox, Zeeltronic Ignition/CDI/PV Pack

Here is the difference between the Jolly Moto Pipe and the Experiment (also my first attempt at hydro-forming)

As you can see it has a shorter rear diffuser section and that is what lead to the higher RPM. Have I lost power? I don't know.

If I can't get to the Dyno I'll find out on Thursday at Speedweek.

I have refitted the Jolly Moto Pipes i usually run at Speedweek.

and the third Test with them fitted show the normal peak rpm of 11500 and shows that the new pipes do raise the peak rpm.

still have a little bit more tuning to do.

Getting closer to having the bike ready.

I still have to build a new Aero Front Mudguard and remove the front Brake disc.

I have made a few minor changes to the 2016 version.

Modified the Air Box Filter so it's easier to turn on Chokes for Cold Start, adjust Power Jets and in Tech Inspection to see Fuel Lines/Hose Clamps.

and

Refiited the Standard Rear Sets to get a tighter Tuck and so I can fit the new "Hi RPM" Pipes on the Std Chassis
