Well Bobs guessed it.
The old ute motor is sold and l am not alone when l say l will miss the sound.
Turbo motors sound like crap and its after much deliberation and soul searching I've discovered the need for speed and more so the need for a more technical challenge has overcome the aural satisfaction of an atmo V8.
The XP ute now has a 1UZFE Toyota V8 sitting dummied in the engine bay.
The plan is finance and consumation of the old motor sale permitting, to refresh the Toyo engine, fit good rods and pistons, re port the heads fit a single turbo and possible paraffin intercooler, maybe ice, depends on dyno tests.
HP level I'll let you know after it leaves the dyno but want to improve the speed so l can run long course with purpose.
I've purchased a Motec M8 and will run boost control with a 9 position switch to bleed the power in gradually. If the traction is sh>t like this year that will be crucial.
l'll run a single rail 4 speed again with the option to upgrade to a toploader if required.
She already runs a 9 inch so the final ratio will be decided after dyno results on the new donk.
Being my own thread about myself please accept this once only apology for some longwinded diatribes at times, I'll try and keep it relavent and to the point.
Ok so its all happening in Chris's shed and with a little help from my friends will maybe post some photos of the progress.
