Postby DON NOBLE » Thu Sep 11, 2008 8:28 am

Went to the Willowbank dragstrip " test and tune " last night . Just over 2 yrs since any motorsport , good to get out and have a bit of fun . It was the 1st time blue wagon had been on a dragstrip , but its bonnet and grill was on red wagon at the salt on 2006 . Pic of wagon as it ran last night .
Did a 15.2 @ 90mph............ QUICKER than the H.H.H. purpose built racecar( Hadfield Humber Hambster ) , hey wot ya reckon , some car these Nissans hehehe !!! .

Hers some pics of the new engine i building.
Nissan rb30e block (originally sohc ) with nissan rb25de head adapted .
Fairly simple adaption . Had to relocate 2 idler wheels for cam belt , alter 1 oil gallery and a couple of other little mods . Am also adapting a 6 throttle body manifold off a nissan rb26tt ( Godzilla skylines they were nicknamed ) .

Works for me Don,

I'm assuming 30 = 3L and 25 = 2.5L hence the head swap or is there something else different between the bottom ends??

Enquiring minds and all that.

Cheers,
Rob

3ltr and 2.5 ltr same bore .
3ltr has longer stroke and taller block . 3ltr has lot longer conrods too . Block is about 40 mm taller .
