Just got my long rod motor fired up. Very Happy. :D

Sounds nice and crisp. Need to do a few heat cycles on the ceramic bores but as its 40* + in the shed its a bit hard.

No $$$ for dyno so it will be tuned on the BIG WHITE ONE.

When I stripped the old motor and checked the under side of the pistons they were like new. No burnt oil so still a lot of tuning up my sleeve. That was 1250* f on the EGT gauge.

Ive upgraded to a new EGT gauge that displays both at the same time, same as Pete runs on his RGV. Might be a HP or 2 there.

Dash is sorted. Shift light set at 4000 RPM for a test. You can see how far the tacho is out.

EGT has a bit of variation, still need to tune bottom end, not that it has much  Top end will be done on the salt, set nice and rich, will work from there.

Congrats to you Dave. Hello to Clair. Didn't make it this year. 8 month old baby was crook, and I high sided my mps bike on Australia Day at eastern creek. She didn't fair so well cart wheeling into the fence. I came out with a busted collarbone and sternum. Great news on the new engine. Hope to see you guys next year. Scott 936

Hey Scott, good to see ya made it here, and on the bubs. Bad luck on the stack and not being able to make it to the Lake. We wondered why we couldnt find ya there.

Will stay in touch and hope ya can make it down next year.

Well just got back from the DYNO. :( A bit disappointed. 56 RWHP. I was expecting more like high 60's. Im going to go give it a comp test and start stripping it down. Ill be interested in the piston and bore condition.

As ya can see there isnt much (FA) below 8000 so after the first run we didnt bother to take any readings below 9000 RPM.

So you had 10Hp missing AND got a record - I'd be happy with that ;)
