JON

Still getting the body straight enough to start laying the " dirty stinkin fithy ichyglass "
Dont worry , those hippie handle bars wont be staying there. they will be getting shortened to half hippie.

ROB
This is the ford diff , which will be most likely kept until I'm able to drive it or push it far enough to work out
if the ratio is tall enough for whats needed. the other truck and the spare both have 2 speed eatons in them,
they are banjo type housings , Will definatley sell them as by the speedo " 60mph " they will be to low for anything
except a bren gun carrier .. Not sure but I think Henry used the ford diff for the Brengun carrier.

In other news..
Just the other night I was watching Forest Gummp on "TV" ....and just like that.... I got up and went down stairs and started
working on the streamliner..
Started folding up the fuel tank..

Image

Then a trial fit before welding.. the little tank on the side is for water ,
it will be used as a sprayer for the chains to stop them overheating

Good $hit Ross, tanks look the dog's Danglys.

I've no experience with Methanol, how did you work out how much fuel for a run?

I know how to work out how much per minute for x hp, did you just multiply that by the time to do a run and add a bit?

Has the brake disc guy been around?

I'm so looking forward to glassing, not..... Itchy $hit.

Cheers

Nice work as usuall, makes me wonder if i should ever attempt something like that , definitely not going to be as nice to look at if i did , maybe i should just buy and stick to motors & tuning
getting lots of glass experiance lately and its definitely not as itchy as grain dust

At Bonneville last year, 1286cc motor, methanol, naked,, pits were located adjacent to the 4.5 mile flags,,, rode to 0, under easy power to 2, then WOT to 5.5, turn off at 8, rode back to pits,,, 5 liters total used,, :) ,, this may be of help to anyone worried 'bout what size their tank should be, ,,

Sorry about being a bit tardy with my replies boys and girls, but many projects and only two hands.. :?
Jon
Methanol usage was worked out from my speedway days and the size of the tank was determined by the given room.
My original calculations were some where in the vicinity of 35 to 40 litres.. the tank has ended up being 39litres..
After reading "stayties " post, it is more likely to use about 20 litres max... which is good .. cause that will leave more room for nitro.. :D

Tanks are yet to be fitted with roll over valve , outlets ,and mounts .. and weld up 2 pinhole leaks

Been trying to make headway on the steering shafts and linkages.. Found some 3/4 X 36 weld on splines on fleeeebay
a month ago . Happily payed,..then impatiently waited.. at the 15 day mark they still weren't here
searched the tracking system only to find... they had detoured to Jamacia..
I have a picture in my head of some DREADLOCK WEARING, POT SMOKIN , BARE FOOT, JAHHHING ,JAMACIAN,POSTMAN....
wandering round the countryside with two little piecies of steel jingling away in the bottom of his post satchall , and won't take them out
cause he likes the sound of them...

BARNYARD BEARCAT , jim knapp has been to our lake for a look and can be seen in the " big white dyno " It was originally honda car powered . I was listening to the audio and When i saw the first photos of the 3 engines I asked Slim to go over and ask how the engines where synchronized and he came back on line and reported they are just thrown in and how the end up they end up . photos on landracing show the three chains running back to the rear wheels . the motors aren't linked as such .

PAUL
Jim Knapps Streamliner is a very interesting piece of enginnerring. He's left it to the clutches to find were the engines are happiest balanced,
and has " also " after some failures cut the connections at the wheels, that way the chains can't thrash against each other. It's working well , I wouldn't
be surprised to see more speed out of it in the years to come..

BUT ANYWAY.. De Jamacin postmon has ben lettin dem jinglin parts outa da contree.
Front and centre is one of the well travelled offenders.

Cut it up pressed them on to there repsective shafts, only to find out I've run out of argon to weld them on..
Brass Roll over valve has also made an apperance..
