That they are, wonder if you could offset grind the crank & run a different rod to get them into the 650 class?

They look like big, heavy lumps. I'm not sure the sidecar would hold it. But it is an idea. Turning it sideways for chain drive might present a problem (however minor). The 750 sidecar records at Bonneville are pathetic (and the 650 records).

As Grumm said they're a good motor, some of the better hp per cc potential in a pushrod engine being water cooled.

There is a thread on LSR forum of a CX500 turned 90 degrees.

Thats Jim's CX. I'm not sure I'd want to go to that much effort for an engine I don't believe is any better than a good Weslake.

Bones. It was good to meet you on the salt. Sorry it wasn't longer meeting but that place tends to get a bit crazy. Did you stay for BUB? We had a great time with the "big" (546) Weslake, Ran a best of 129.475 for the mile. And a couple of records. Hope you haven't given up entirely on your Weslake.

I met him at SpeedWeek. Didn't get to talk to him long enough. I guess the Weslake is dead in the water. Shame. Was hoping to spur him to re-do it.

Jim makes the CX650 fly but I don't think I'm as talented as him at building one. So I'll take a shot at building one of these.

Bones, Is the Weslake dead in the water? Be a shame if it was. Or do you have plans? Here's a spur to get it back on the rails.

Dr. Goggles. It was a brief but enjoyable meeting. If I remember rightly we we pulling up El Cajon pass. Bones bring the Weslake back The salt needs more singles. Nevada seems to be nothing but uphill no matter what direction you travel.

The weslake is not dead yet but is resting.
I picked up a TZ 250 A the other day. At the moment it's easier to tune a 2stroke than work out the weslake's problems.
See you next year with the vincent and maybe the 250.
cheers Bones
