I'll look forward to seeing you next year. Hopefully be able to have a decent chat instead of a fly by howdy. Take care and Happy New Year.

Smiles all round and 2 records.
Alex ran 89 on the 80 for an APS/G 100 record
I ran 125 on the 350 for a A/G record with a 15mph head wind. I ran 141 on the gps track.
Alex is making noises about next year so we might go for a big over bore and get closer to the 100 limit.
cheers Bones

Hey Jon
How fast did Dave end up? Did he repeat the gps speed?

Unfortunately not Bones, his bike was running a bit off and he pulled off before the timed section rather than hold everyone up.
I've not run methanol in a bike before and my lack of knowledge let him down.
His bike runs ok when it's hot but pretty ordinary until its up to temp, not that big a problem on the GPS track where he could do a run to get the bike hot and get back in line and around again fairly quickly.
We're have trouble getting it up to temperature without a decent run though.

His cooling system doesn't circulate any water though his tank until the thermostat opens at 82C, just circulates continuously through the barrels and head rather than deadheading like a conventional thermostat.
I'm thinking the idle is way to rich, hopefully and easy fix.
Dave is talking about taking it to the drags a bit, that will give us some opportunity to learn some, get the temps up then we can get the fuel and spark timing a bit closer.
It has an O2 logger on it but a waste of time doing much with that until we get the temps stable and start burning all the fuel properly.

He got his 175 licence, we met some great people, learnt a lot. I didn't have to explain to his girlfriend and mother why he had broken bits, we're happy.
He was talking EFI and turbo on the way over, he's now talking NAC200+ club which I believe has a current bike membership of 1.

Cheers

Alex has been making noises about going faster-- 100 mph is not enough.
So the next stage will be to refit the RS 125 to his chassis
So with more than double the horse power I think he should go a decent speed
All we need to do is make a pipe that fits the bike properly and rebuild an engine

Lets hope we have a good 2015
