Damn Gum trees, turn your back for 5 seconds, and "pop" this dropped into the fuel line, then trickled down to the filter, and took up residence there.
It wouldn't have caused the lean off, but it sure wouldn't have helped, once again Bones, your bloods worth bottlin'

The fuel line was disconnected for 2 minutes while I drained the tank.

It seems I also have a foreign object somewhere in the pilot system too, lean as hell @ idle, pulled the air screw and did a rough blow thru, restarted, A/f of 5/1, "touched" the air screw,,,straight up to 9/1, lean enough to freak the gauge out and show an error
Another surgical clean happening now, trying to catch any grit on a clean piece of paper towel so I know the culprit

What size pilot?
The Yamaha uses a #70 and has never had a problem.
What fuel are you using?
R30 is no good with methanol, use shell M.

Again I am am not sure if any conclusions can be drawn between your Blown 250 and my Smoker, but this is the Jetting I am running.
My current set up runs two 34mm Mikunis with a #370 (4/042 type) main Jets and #50 (N102221 type approx 35cc/min) Power Jets per Carb.
So I have about 405cc/Min x 2 worth of Jetting between 3/4 and WOT (makes 67 Dynojet RWHP) running Petrol (Sunoco Supreme).
A standard tune RGV runs about 315cc/min x 2 worth of Jetting between 3/4 and WOT (approx 57-60 Dynojet RWHP).
The sort of flow from the Jet sizes you're running for Methanol are pretty close to the stock RGV uses on Petrol mmmm......

Errrr,,Ummmmm,,I seem to have installed the automatic float level model Holley float bowl, nudge nudge
It had it's royal fatness & surge return after it had its bowl filled up
I'll leave the float level sight glass on while I sort the jetting I think (I wish I'd used a Holley bowl with the window in it)
Seeing as there's still HEAPS of time left 'till speedweek, the Bosch LSU4.2 0s sensor sensed it was time to turn up it's toes, so I have time to tidy up the shed while I wait for a replacement, THEN I can continue to test.
Maybe I'll have room for more beer at the lake if there's no bike in the ute

Don't use R30 it will not mix properly with methanol.
Shell M is good.
Go see a speedway solo rider- they use oil which is methanol compatable

When you run Methanol do you need a Methanol Compatible engine Oil and an Oil mixed with the Fuel as a cylinder Lubricant.
I was in the Pit Crew of a Turbo Rotary Drag Car and they added Castrol M to the Fuel and used Brad Penn Engine Oil.

It's good to run some sort of lubricant in the oil but it is not necessary. Methanol has NO lubricating properties.
There are some adatives designed for this. Shell M is good. For oil in 4strokes and to mix for 2strokes.
You do need an oil which is methanol compatable- any blow by needs to mix with the oil so it does not turn to glug.

Had another test ride early this morning,,sooooo close now, a tad lean on the main, but that may be due to the "test tank" and it's lack of adequate venting.
2 more issues appeared,
Overheating
Clutch slip
The new thermostat may be a bit slow to open, so I'll replace that with a restrictor plate before I go out again
I have 2 clutches, one has done 42,000 k's, the other, LOTS, guess which one I put in ? (both look the same at a glance), but I measured the "spare" spring free length, and friction plate thickness, as good as new, I'll compare the other when I take it out, but I need to get the jetting spot on 1st, then the cooling,
Guess who stuffed up when he turned the GoPro "data logger" on ?
Yep, no egt, O2 or other reviews this time,,,just my memory,,and there are only 3 brain cells left,,,,,,
Did I mention how HOT is is ?

I was looking at a restored supercharged Vincent drag bike last week
He had replaced the oil tank with a round top fame tube that he was using as a fuel tank
It had a radiator cap on it and was running a bleed from the blower to pressurize the tank
Got rid of the need for a fuel pump and removed the chance of cavitation in the pickup
