As mentioned in the 2008 build diary, work has started on fitting an Aisin AMR300 supercharger to a MC19 Honda cbr250r engine with the goal of finally obtaining a 125 licence on this bike,
The frame is a raked honda VT250 one, with the cbr swingarm, forks and wheels fitted.

Yeah, the blower shaft will be supported, as will the crank one, with oil fed phosphor bronze bushes with seals either end.
To be continued,,,,,

Ive had a similar idea myself but have decided to stick with the 2 smoker.

Im sure it will be a real head turner. 4 X straight out pipes i hope 8)

Good luck with it Tiny, should be an easy build after the postie bike. (maybe)

I read a blog a while ago about some local guys that built a turbocharged and fuel injected cbr250 because they could. Might be of some use to you.

Two words Tiny, INTAKE TEMPRETURE, or are you running methanol.
Did lots of work in my former job on measuring intake temp on blown things trying to run petrol. Horrible combination.
Or are you fitting an intercooler in there.
Will sound sick.

Yeah Chris, methanol, the effective compression ratio with boost will be knocking on 17/1 (not allowing for the valve overlap, which is another hurdle to overcome down the track some) making alcohol a must.
Its a draw thru setup , and a steep learning curve for me, I'm not trying to do anything other than searching for an easy gain in HP, on a budget, and have fun in the process.
Who knows,,the plan might be a bad one ?

Hey - I'm keeping an eye on this build project tiny :D

I have a new IHI RHB31 Turbo Charger (Chinese copy) on the shelf earmarked for a conversion to supercharger...

You don't need to push it too hard first round because there's no records in that class... yet ;)

The intake took a small step towards it's final shape this week, the next job it to bend up some 16g mild steel to finish the bottom.( stainless would have been to difficult to form)
All I have to work with are the 2 end plates bolted up in their positions, measurements are critical, and distortion of the plates due to welding presents a problem, even though I bolted up some 3mm plate to them, still lots of welding to go yet.

The person that can graft a R6 head and barrel onto a postie bike can do almost anything im thinking.

I take my hat off to you Tiny and look froward to you posts.

Progress is slow,,but steady in the creation station.
The plenum is almost ready, welding complete, & its in the machine shop getting the faces machined flat.

Ive also finished the 2 support bushes for the upper and lower drive shafts.

one goes here

Then,,,,

I need to knock up a blow off valve next, I'll experiment with some old valves once Iv'e checked what pressure one can hold, then make a 90 degree bizzo with an adjustable valve spring setup,,,maybe ?
