These engines sound just like a big block Chev the perfect V8 note.
I've never built an exhaust like this one and I,m dyin' to fire it up and get it on a dyno.
I've been away for a week and am going in now to work on it.
Will post photos of the fitted system tonight.

The exhaust is now fitted, 2 x 2.25" pipes down each side, pressed hard up against the floor with muffler matting in between.
We used rubber mounts to allow for expansion. scroll down to see the full system

The air jacks are fitted as is the fabricated dual brake master cylinder, with no booster it requires heaps of pedal presure but suffers no wheel lock up, we used this on the Targa Tasmania car and it worked well and was just collecting dust.
It's a public holiday tomorrow so the steering and dash will go in, maybe the front brake lines. Febuary is so close...

Tom,
I am enjoying watching your attention to detail and the fact that nothing is there without a function.
Have you rememered somewhere for ballast?

Hi Chris
I have thought a lot about ballast. Adding weight to a race car is foreign to me but anything that improves traction and stability has to be good.
The MX5 sills are quite large and I thought any easy way is to fill them with lead shot through a funnel, don't know if that's been done or where to get small shot.
There is also space in front of the diff housing to bolt in something cast to shape.
Does anyone have any ideas on where to get scales?
It's becomming a race against time,

Everyone seems desperate for some cheap shot, may I suggest Liquerland, $25 Bourbon, thats 26 oz , only 96c a shot and should relieve most symptoms including comedy deprivation stress overload.

Well we're at the most important part of the build.
I've been lead to believe that the salt is hot in summer so this should keep the crew refreshed.

The engine is getting closer to a start with the alternator ( found it laying around, came off a hilux) now fitted.
I did find a slightly larger pulley to slow it down a little. Note the slide adjuster idler pulley, works well.
