Well it's back into action, hope no one is offended by the girlie photos, There is a Bullet calander for 2013 coming if anyone is interested. Got the oil lines, filter and oil cooler plumbed in before the girls took over.
Spent today finishing the engine, fitting spark plugs, mounting the 8 indivdual coils, which needed some brackets fabricated, the fuel system needed completion with return lines and p clamps to secure everything.
Fitted the battery and ran the main cables.
Hope Santa finds a Coldfire system cause that and an engine start would really generate some much needed energy to keep this project on track. We should get some full days during the xmas break and hopefully still make it to the salt,

On the 8th day of Xmas
Some tyres arrived.
a parrachute too.
2 Coldfire bottles,
A tub of resin, some glass
and some paper for the loo.
Everything we need, so good to see,
even a partridge in a pear tree.
And on the 12th day of Christmas we'll be two men a workin'

We have been busy over the last few days, It's starting to dawn on me as to how much still needs to be done, getting some help from Mick Dare who is a great fabricator has certainly come in handy.
Bob Ellis paid a visit on Friday and gave some very helpfull and timely tips regarding the positioning of fire controls in relation to arm restraints, and quite a few other things I was about to do incorrectly, chute attachement, supercharger restraint, helmet side movement restraint to name a few.
The brakes are now fitted and bled, throttle cable made, mounting brackets made all attached and giving full throttle, Desperate to here it fire up.
I've attached a photo of the extingisher bottlle mounts, decided to incorporate it into the intercooler mounting frame, I also wanted the bottles up off the floor as it will get very hot with the exhaust pipes hard against it so they sit in a frame that is mounted an inch above the floor.
Attachments
There are 3 x 12mm bolts securing the bottles and 4 x 10mm bolts holding the frame onto the original seat mounts.

And these words are from a bloke who has a 12 foot tall Christmas tree in his living room! :D

But then again, yours truly put on a red suit this year, and is having to use less and less white hairspray in the beard!

Cheers, Pete

We insulated the floor to keep the exhaust temp away from the intercooler esky and the coldfire bottles.
The floor is ceramic coated both sides and has fibreglass muffler matting both sides and then heat shield matting.

Ken layed up a new roof and we pulled it from the mold on Tuesday. This will be attached permanently with Sikaflex and about 30 countersunk screws next week.

Eventually the dreaded wiring session. This is a fairly complex job with 8 coils, 8 injectors a Wolf computer and a 4 channel CDI unit, fuel pumps and fans plus 3 intercooler pumps and various gauges.
Sideshow (I must take a photo tomorrow and Simpson watchers will understand the nickname) is handling the wiring and with some luck we want to fire it up this weekend.

Wow. Started the BMS Bullet this afternoon.
Sounds awesome and real angry. Will try down load it onto youtube tomorrow.
Big day today with wiring, start up and bigger rear coils fitted, went frm 200 to 500 springs...and as my partner has decided to visit her mum in NZ I get to play Sundays as well.

Sideshow did a great job, I'm always impressed when a full wiring system designed from scratch works first time.
