51' triumph rigid salt racer - perth

Post by LeeReader »

hey guys,
thought it was about time i introduced myself and started a build thread up.

im Lee Reader, 27 years old. i own /run a small shop in perth called Readers Auto & Cycle, working on cars and motorcycles, vintage and modern. have been working on vintage triumphs since i was 19.

the build -
frame - 1951 rigid triumph (could be wrong on year)
T.R. (unknown what this means, it doesnt say TR5 just T.R. maybe somebody can shine some light on this) 2347A
Engine - 1960 triumph tiger 650 engine, wal phillips mechanical injection, slickshift box

iv got alot more decisions to make as to what i want but iv got a good start.

running a allloy suzuki vmx fuel tank, front end im un decided, iv got a 39mm sportster, a 35mm sporster, and a t140 triumph front end to choose from. cant afford a ceriani or similer so will be sticking to what i have around the shop. wil be running a 21" spool with alloy rim up front and probably an 18 out back

ill post pics / info as i go, hope to meet some of you out on the salt eventualy

cheers
-lee

Welcome aboard Lee! I'm sure there's a few vintage Triumph guys on here to discuss your build with - and I'm sure they will encourage you to stick with the yellow paint scheme.

Hi Lee, there can never be enough Triumphs, and apart from Mossy's 650 rigid my next project is a rigid to!
Also 1951/52 frame and two engine combos,500cc and 650cc. Yammy front end.
