250 special build

Hello
I'm Glenn from Lithgow NSW
Iv had an interest in salt racing for quite a while but after some comments made by some workmates it's now become a project

I'm building a chassis using a Rotax 256 from a formula E superkart.
It's a twin cylinder rotary disc valve 2 stroke. I have purchased some FPE 54mm bore cylinders and with the 54mm cranks it gives me 247cc therefore under the 250cc limit

I brought a blown up RS125 aprilia and I'm using the front and rear end but building the frame centre using folded up sheet metal.

I'm going to upload some pics of the project so far

Can't wait until march 18 👍🏻

Hey Glen
If you are using Photobucket that could be the problem.
They are trying to charge for the storage.
The guys who are running in the 250 class are going to have to get their acts together :D

cheers Bones

Hello,
I'm still having issues loading pics

I can email if anyone is interested.

Also I have had whispers about not being able to run this engine due to it being a Kart engine. This is a valid point and I am aware of that ruling however the rotax engine I'm using was used in production GP motorcycles in the 80's. Cotton, Armstrong and even the early 250 GP Aprilia AF1's.

I hope to have the bike running in a few weeks time so hopefully I can figure out how to upload a video. :D :D

Hey Glen,
It has to be legal because it is originally designed for a bike.
It doesn't matter it was later developed in karts.
I hear it's nearly done
cheers Bones
