Well it's got a bit more now!!!

Gary sent me a more recent picture of the readout from the scales:

Looks like an extra 122 kilos in the rear. The car always looked like it had a fat bum and now it really does! I'll be heading down to Gaz's in a few weekend's time so will take the camera (if I can find it) and take a bunch of photos of how it looks like now.

Rob,
I have 60kgs in the fuel tank space and 80kg in the drivers seat. I still need the bonnet, front bumper, water, oil and that should be about it. I will do a bit of fine tuning with a bit of lead out of the rear to make 52/48 ratio front to rear. I will load the LHS a bit as well to compensate for torque. I haven't allowed for the rear spoiler downforce as I haven't built it yet. Still a bit of guesswork but at least I feel confident that I won't be 'taking off' once the speed gets up... I hope.
I should have a final delivery date for the bus/transporter next Monday so there will be a bit of work to do on that before next February. After watching West Coast Customs and Chip Foose on Foxtel I have plenty of ideas!

Chris

Big Gaz is probably asleep at the moment having pulled an all nighter driving the big rig back to Sydney. The Pussy Puller has been collected and she's a girl with history. The story goes that she was one of the first or the first bus produced for the World Expo in Brissie. She's a collectors item... one that's about to have her rear end cut out and ramps installed. He also got his hands on 6 seats with integrated belts which will need to be fitted. We had a quick discussion on where the lounge and big screen TV are to be fitted but nothing is really decided at the moment. I'll post a pic soon (Chris - you might have more time than me at present if you get the chance to post it???).

So I figure next will be the push vehicle and based on the eastern progression of manufacturers (ie Jag and now Volvo) that the next may well come from Russia, perhaps with an appropriate name...something big in the "Gaz" lineup?

He was talking about using a "Mighty Boy" which would fit in the glove box of the bus but the 6 door Rangie is much more in keeping with the theme that is going on here. I also suggested a Rover SD1 or 3500 which he seems to be amassing...

Then again - we could T-Top the Mighty boy and the tray would make an almost acceptable esky?

Spent the day with Gary yesterday working on the Jag, lots still to do but we managed to make a fair dent in it. Despite the rain and hail the front bar was painted in the afternoon as was the chute mount. When I left Gary and his brother were making ready for the dyno run(s).

The car went to the dyno this morning but I haven't heard the results as yet.

The bus isn't engineered or registered yet but the modifications to it are done. Plan A is to leave Wednesday morning early...

New springs have the front up off the bump stops.

Who'd have ever thought a Falcon rear bar would fit the front of a Jag so well.

Finishing off the spahetti that is wiring.
