Hey Doc sure this isn't Don's new secret weapon ! he seems to keep himself amused in Nu Zilland hanging around with a lot of old people . maybe his project with the CWA Ladies ?
ya see , he even went to the trouble of putting his name on the seat....what a trooper

Bumpy,,,? yep, 'specially near the 2 mile
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uh6mtzR9Yr4
I hav'nt pulled her down yet, but she was still running ok after the last run, when she "accidentally " hit 12,000 rpm briefly befor she was hauled in, ebay innards dont like those revs, so Mr Carrillo recons if I give him US$350, he'll make me a 'rod that should stay inside the cases, and if he makes it a bit longer, I can max out the C/R.
I'll put some new valves and springs in too, get another piston coated with ceramic, then I'll take a mould from this,,,
add a few hunnert hours, and maybe end up with sommin like this,,,,
I dunno 'bout 2011, but I'll try.

The post event teardown was completed today with no surprises
Eberything has been 'lubed well this time 'round.
The fatigued ebay valve springs held the also fatigued ebay valves closed when they had to , and didn't let them open too far.
I can safely (?) get the new Carrillo 'rod made 2.5mm longer without the piston running into anything it's not designed to ? reducing the combustion chamber volume from 22.7 cc, to the 13.1 cc it originally had, upping the compression ratio significantly , possibly as high as 15/1 ?
New OEM valves and springs should increase the safe zone to include a 12,000 rpm redline (up from 11,000 rpm, although the engine put up with a constant 11,500 rpm, with an "oops" of 12,000 rpm with the 2nd hand bits this year)
It's pitty I chose a '93 head when the build began,,'cos a late model R6 uses Titanium valves, and double springs, oh well, I didn't really expect the engine to be anything other than track debris after its good 1st flogging , but it'll happen one year !

I got excited today when a box arrived from Carrillo,,,,bewdy,,I thought,,on a day off work too,,,,,,
But,,,,
Unless a tee shirt , or a sample 'rod will fill the spot between the gudgeon pin and the crank pin, I'm still waitin'
I just hope the Carrillo rod is still sitting on packer #1's bench

What still no rod yet
Ya might as well have knitted one out of a old grader blade like old Burt , you'd be finished by now.
Carrillo Carrillo give them a pillow, so they can have a sleep.
Cheers Ross

Forwards backwards land returns .
I was about to commence checking valve / piston clearances when I discovered one of the new Carrillo 'rod bolts was head butting the crankcases.
'Rod shown below the contact area.
Problem solved
There goes one day off work, Back to where I started again tomorrow

Next weak link!
She's gonna bang pretty hard Tiny !
More "BANG" equalls less tooths on the rear sprocket which equalls more load on the "CLUTCH " do you think it will hold up?

Yeah , Mr Barnett threw some clutch springs at it , it had new friction plates in it this year.
One exhaust valve had a ring worn around the stem , just below the top retainer, cant find a cause, failurs was close, so I'm glad I have new valves and springs to throw it too.

Hey TINY
Just before the Russian cyborg hackers got in and deliverd their rant of world domination & stole 2 of your lovely
hand knitted motorcycles. I'm sure I saw a giant fire cracker UFO looking device standing upright in your creation station,
with a little note of evolution . Was that the cyborgs ship just parked there while they were in here creating havoc,or was there a postie bike growing inside it.
DO TELL
