Good to see the pulleys coming along. We have finished our and will boost test the blower in two weeeks, driving it of the motor but not pumping into motor.

Looking forward to seeing that - I do check out the facebook page when I remember :)

Here's an update from tonight - the test pulley holes and countersink worked :) I have a few tweaks to the CNC g-code and then I can bang out 3 real ones.

dplecko's I'll take on board your advice and make the pulleys high sided

Here are some pics and some action :)

It's a bitsa - mill head removed from a mill/lathe combo, mounted on a base and converted to CNC :)

Looks like you need to upload it somewhere - send me it in an email paul dot mcintosh at internetscooter dot com (make the dot's "." and the at "@" - I post my email this way to prevent spam). I can then upload :)

Here you go

I know this one :) it is a 750cc stuck in a Vespa by some Italians as a result of a drunken bet. Yes that is a computer fan they are using for cooling.

Here's it's debut

Cheers scooter man :D :D your a techno wiz.
That is so Italian, jump on a kamikaze scooter and rap it out hard without trying it slow and steady, Last time I was in Milan thats how they ride around town, I seen a pranged scooter on the side of the road every working day for two weeks, they are fearless.

Finally I have a 3D model suitable for CFD!

I have just sent my virtual Vespa of down the virtual salt pan and by tomorrow I will have the first result...

A CdA (Drag Coefficient x Frontal Area) of <0.426 means I should get 105 mph with the current engine. Then I can improve this with power (supercharger) and partial streamlining :)

That looks like the real thing Paul. Streamlining will get you bigger and cheaper results I think.

OK - first result back sooner than expected

Image

A CdA of 0.357 :D

This means my power curve is my Achilles Heel, with no more gearing options I have to straighten it out top end and the supercharger should do the trick. I might even need a rev limiter to stop me going over 110mph (my tyre rating) - now that would be a good problem to have ;)
