Nice run off area, I bet they wish it was the Texas Mile and a half! Apart from the parachute pull, that's probably what trashed that Lamborghini. Mind you, I'd settle for something like it anywhere near here. So would Ross and everyone else who remembers the QTA meetings at Don Noble's workshop. Trouble is we don't have any old runways left over from WW11 or even the Cold War, the WW11 strips were mostly grass and were all returned to pasture more than 60 years ago. The closest I found any record of was at Brymaroo, about 30km north of Oakey, which is only two hours from Brisbane. Just looking on Google maps now, the whole area is farms but there's a 6km dead straight road. Actually there are lots of them in the area, so I have to presume the area is very flat. I haven't been to Oakey for 20 years but I seem to remember it was reasonably flat.
