New world speed record for diesel set at 350 mph , with a best speed of 365 mph . There was probably more in it , as Andy Green was quoted as saying , "it was still pulling like a train and still hadnt got into 6th gear ".
They have decided 350 mph is what they want and have packed up and going home . Rumoured cost 10 mil

Too easy hey?

what a great result for that team..... 1st time out, running twin diesels, no wind tunnel to verify modeling...now how are they going to translate the R&D , salt speeds into JCB tractor sales

.........there'll be an ad' campaign based loosely on the Tortoise and the Hare fable ........." we put these engines in our Back-hoes......when we souped them up they did 350 miles per hour , when we put them in our 'Hoes they'll go forever , and ever and ever.

They did the bizzo despite the pompous feel of it and the amount of dough they put into it......looks like it will go somewhat faster again. You can't diminish the achievement , but it would look good if you did it on your pension in your back yard...
...few understand what I'm trying to do , but they vastly outnumber those who understand why..
