Richard there are a couple going over for the bike only event and world of speed, there only a week apart and spread the risk of weather probs.
Speedweek would be spectacular but holidays only last for so long...
Hope all the NZ guys have fun ,go fast and have problem free runs

Hi
Well I fly out to Los Angeles tonight then straight off to Las Vegas.
Our Team is called "Black thunder Racing' and the bike is a ZX14.
The owner and his wife went over 3 days ago and we will leave to drive up to Wendover
on the 16th and it's all go from there.
This will be my first time in the USA and although I am a bit apprehensive I'm sure that it will be
the trip of a lifetime.
Will try and get as many pic's of any interesting bikes I find and ,depending on what Internet
access the Team owner has arranged, will try to post updates on here as Speed Week progresses.
Keep an eye on the Southern California Timing Association web site here.

There will be updates on there as Speed Week progresses
Thanks
Richard

Iv'e taken the liberty of cutting this link from our mates at landracing.com's forum, it contains some updates on the Kiwi presence at speedweek this year.

Hi
Sorry that I have not posted anything from the salt. i didn't have access to the net.
Just got in from the USA...been on the go for 29hrs so I will try and post something when I have had some sleep.
Richard
P.S. Our guy went 181.96mph....he needed 196+ to break the record so we missed it.

Hi
Lastly our team...Black Thunder Racing. We got up to 181.96mph so we missed the record of 196mph+.
Our rider just couldn't get down into a position on the bike that was streamlined enough. So we kept"hitting the wall" at 181mph. But he is 6ft plus and even at 5.7" .I couldn't get into a decent crouch on the ZX14.
Still riding 181mph on the slippery salt is bloody amazing I reckon...I wouldn't do it.
Here are some pictures of our team.

That is for now.
Trip of a life time and if you ever get a chance just do it.
Thanks
