Here's a question for the Aero literati:

Will the hail damage act the same as the dimpling on a golf ball and promote the laminar adhesion of air over the body thereby allowing an increased speed?

Is this cheating or Act of God?

Dunno Lynchy but I'm gonna bring a little ball-pein hammer to the lake next year in case it catches on , I hereby offer my services to "aero-dimple" any car for a cold six pack.

ps: is this the new "202 for sale" thread? ....lets go !!

I am pretty sure it relies on the ball spinning

and I dont like the idea of spinning at big speed in an el Falcon lol

I actually had a mate do a thesis at uni on different types of golf
ball dimples. Obviously his claims were all BS as that was in 1983
and the dimples all look the same as they did then.

Dr.Goggles if a ball-pein hammer is used it would be deemed
as cheating, and as the assistant timer all runs will be void.

damn, and I'd found a sub-contractor who'd do a car for four stubbies so I was looking good there. What if I can provide a weather bureau report that proves it hailed at least once during the year at the entrants address.....or maybe I could hire a car wash In Porda Gudda and replace the mops with knotted rope ???....one pass through for a wash and ta da!!!.........jeez this is gettin' silly.

I'd really worked up a thirst over that one too.
come on Grumm surely you've got some ideas for this one.....

Being an assitant starter we can over rule the assistant timers and if the idea works l can override the real Stans overruling providing the laminar airflow modification is only used on other assistant timers race only vehicles, ( this does not include road going deviants sorry Don)

Your right Goggles this thread is getting quite weird, or is that just the booze after a heavy week. :? Seeings your not an assistant starter yet (but you could be) that will attract a fee of half a cold six pack per car but unfortunatly we will need more volunteer assistant starters with eligable race vehicles to have enough beer to get drunk.

Sorry Stan seems you've joined the wrong assistant club  but we are currantly doing a membership drive.

Chris

I believe there was a rule that only Queenslanders could be assistant starters. This was discussed at the DLRA sub-sub-branch meeting of the Assistant Starters Club, which is a subsidiary of the DLRA Queensland Sub branch, which is a subsidiary of the DLRA aka DLRA (Qld{ASC})??
