SFI 38.1 for reclined seat

Post by JonB »

Hi

What are people using SFI 38.1 compliant head restraint for reclined seating.
Hans go to 40 degrees, I am needing something for about 60 degrees.
Son has a Leatt neck brace which was compliant but now isn't on SFI list, am trying to contact Leatt about recertification.

Thanks
Jon

Hi

Udate for antone interested; Leatt will not be recertifying any neck braces & recommend that their braces are not to be used in vehicles fitted with harnesses.

Another update if anyone cares.

Looks like there's another manufacturer in the market.
http://www.necksgen.com

Looks a lot like the DefNder?

I have sent them an enquiry re lay down seating.

Does this forum do group buys at all?
If a group of us were interested in the same brand I would happy to talk to the supplier to see if we can't save some $.

My current plan is to buy a Simpson Hybrid Pro Rage http://simpsonraceproducts.com/products ... 0568&sort=

We're in the market Jon, I will be cadging your research...we are a bit more upright than you but due to the egress issues I want it to be as discreet as possiblea big halo like the standardHANS would be bad for our car.
...few understand what I'm trying to do , but they vastly outnumber those who understand why..

Had to read that a few times, couldnt work out what your were uptight about

So far im at;
HANS; too big to get in and out of anything that you go straight forward from the seat, the top will catch on the rollbar, also too uptight, i mean upright.
Simpson; plenty of options, the Pro seems the smallest, will build my seat to suit, the Rage option gives thwe same function without the Carbon bling and associated $.
NecksGen; looks ok, reply back from supplier that it wont suit my seat angle.

Hi

Simpson Pro Rage turned up today.
I will be taking it to the lake if anyone wants to borrow it to see how they go fitting in their vehicle before they're mandatory next year.

I know Ross won't be able to wait so will probably call over.

Cheers
